During spring break, I went to the US-Mexico border in Arizona. Throughout the trip, I had the chance to visit Douglas, Bisbee, and Tucson in Arizona, before crossing the border to Naco, the town right at the border, and Cananea, where I stayed over night with one of the students, in Mexico. By the end of the trip, I was filled with numerous unforgettable memories and experiences, provided with valuable knowledge about the current situation of the border, and had got extremely close to the group and Mexican students whose cultures were new and fascinating to me.

I was invited by the TEDx leaders to join their publicities team. We started working since October as the event was planned to happen in November as it did every year. However, in receiving approval from the central TEDx program, we had to reschedule the event and push it back to January. The extra time given did not give us the excuse to postpone on the preparation. Instead, the standards were raised and I worked hard with the team throughout the 4 months to make the event as memorable as possible.

Approximately a month before Yule Ball, one of the event organizers reached out to me and asked me to help them in making and setting up the decorations. Having seen my roomie last year working on transforming the caf into a magnificent Hogwarts castle, I did not hesitate to accept the request and joined the team. Not only did I enjoy exercising my artistic skills in one of the school's most important events, but I was also acknowledged as one of the organizer leaders at the end, which was something I totally did not expect and was incredibly thankful for.
